a conversation

I am trying to do better about writing down things Kate says and conversations we have. Here is an exchange we had the other day:
Kate: Mommy, we should buy lemonade toothpaste because I like that kind.
Me: They don't make that kind.
Kate: Oh.

This is not the best picture. My camera's settings were a bit kooky when we started our Wednesday photo shoot. The original photo was very dark. I did some editing in an attempt to make this picture better because I love the expressions on their faces. It might not be the best photo technically, but their expressions make it a winner in my book.

10 months

Liz was 10 months of Friday. I have been having the hardest time getting pictures of her lately. Now that she is mobile she crawls towards me and grabs for the camera whenever I try to photograph her. Or, she is just moving too quickly, so it is never a good shot. I really wanted to get a picture of her standing up. But, again, she is too fast. She also started cruising around furniture the last few days. Soon she will be walking. I am not sure we are ready. But, ready or not, here she comes!

eating

Doesn't Liz look so happy to have spaghetti sauce all over her face? She loves to eat! I love that about Liz. Kate never did and still doesn't really seem to care for eating. Kate will graze and snack. But, Liz enjoys eating a meal. She opens her mouth wide, claps her hands in between bites and asks for seconds.

sick again

Kate and Liz were sick again this weekend! The symptoms included high fevers, moaning, groaning, crying, and other unpleasantries.

Kate spent lots of time listly laying on the floor. However, I knew Kate was on the road to recovery because just before I took this picture, Kate and I had the following conversation:

Kate: Mommy can I play a song on my keyboard?

Me: Sure

Kate: Well, I'm too sick. I don't want to get up. Will you get it for me?

Me: No.

I had to chuckle to myself. I knew Kate was feeling better because she wanted to play with her toys. But, she was still trying to milk her illness for a little bit longer.
